Journal Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence and AI-Enabled Technologies

  1. General Provisions

The Сollection "Problems of legality" acknowledges that artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-enabled tools may serve as useful auxiliary instruments in the preparation of scholarly manuscripts. At the same time, any use of such technologies must comply with the principles of academic integrity, scientific responsibility, and transparency.

  1. Permissible Uses of AI

Authors may use AI technologies during manuscript preparation solely as supportive tools, including (but not limited to) the following purposes:

– searching for relevant literature and analytical materials (with mandatory subsequent verification of all sources);

– improving clarity of expression, style, and language accuracy;

– generating illustrative materials (e.g., schemes, diagrams, visualizations), provided such use does not distort the scientific content;

– assisting with translation or linguistic editing;

– preparing technical elements of the manuscript (e.g., spell-checking, formatting).

  1. Prohibited Uses of AI

The use of AI is strictly prohibited in any manner that may undermine the originality, reliability, or academic integrity of the work, including:

– generating scientific content (e.g., problem formulation, methodology description, analysis of results) that has not been critically verified and explicitly validated by the authors;

– automatically generating citations or bibliographies in a way that may result in fabricated, unverifiable, or incorrect references;

– disguising plagiarism through paraphrasing or automated rewriting of others’ texts;

– designating AI systems as co-authors. AI tools cannot be recognized as authors, nor can they assume responsibility for the reported scientific results.

  1. Disclosure Requirements

Authors must clearly disclose, in the Acknowledgements section or in a dedicated note, which AI tools were used and for what purpose.

Disclosures must be explicit and transparent (e.g., “During manuscript preparation, the authors used Grammarly to improve linguistic style” or “Figures were produced using MATLAB with AI-assisted analytics features”).

Failure to disclose the use of AI is considered a breach of academic integrity.

  1. Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors bear full and exclusive responsibility for the manuscript’s content, the validity of the reported results, and the correctness of interpretations.

The use of AI does not exempt authors from ensuring scientific novelty, accuracy, and compliance with ethical standards.

Where violations of this policy are identified, the editorial office reserves the right to request corrections, reject the manuscript, or retract the published article, as appropriate.

  1. Guiding Principles

This policy has been developed with due regard to the recommendations of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and the practices of leading scientific publishers. The Сollection aims to maintain a balanced, risk-managed approach that supports innovation while safeguarding academic integrity, ensuring transparency and trust in scientific communication.

Declaration on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Publications

The Сollection "Problems of legality" Information Systems and Networks acknowledges the role of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies as auxiliary tools in scholarly activity and in the preparation of manuscripts. The use of AI is permitted only in areas that do not affect the scientific novelty or the reliability of the research, including language proofreading, text editing, translation, preparation of visualizations, and technical formatting of materials.

The use of AI is strictly prohibited for the automated generation of the paper’s scientific content (including the presentation of theoretical propositions, description of methodology, formulation of conclusions, and interpretation of results), as well as for the creation, fabrication, or falsification of references. AI systems may not be recognized as authors or co-authors of scientific work.

Authors are required to explicitly disclose any AI tools used during the preparation of the manuscript, clearly specifying the name of the tool(s) and the purpose of their use. Failure to disclose the use of AI is considered a breach of academic integrity and may constitute grounds for rejection or retraction of the publication.

Full responsibility for the validity of the research results, the soundness of their scientific justification, and compliance with ethical standards relies solely with the authors.
